How to Break $1M in Your Coaching Business in the Next 12 Months

Watch Now

There are countless reasons coaches struggle to automate their marketing, but I believe there are three specific challenges that keep coaches from ever getting started.

In the last blog post, we spoke in depth about these challenges. Coaches don’t automate their marketing because:

  1. They don’t have marketing tactics they work.
  2. The don’t have enough time.
  3. They don’t have an automation system in place.

Every month I create a Monthly Marketing Project that shows you why the strategy’s important, what you need to know, exactly how to do it, and a template so you can implement the strategy immediately.

If you don’t have the rights tactics, I’ve got you covered.

What about the “I don’t have enough time,” challenge?

Half-Day Blocks

Managing your time is really your responsibility, but I’ll share a tactic that works great for me.

One of our Black Belt members, Rob Nixon, runs an amazing coaching business for accountants in Brisbane. In his book, Accounting Practices Don’t Add Up, he has a great line that really stuck with me because it relates so much to how I think about time.

He says, “Every week is made up of 14 half-days.”

I want you to grab your calendar – whether it’s on the computer, on your wall, or desktop – and I want you to put aside one of those 14 half days to be your marketing session.

I schedule mine first thing on Monday mornings. I call it Coach Marketing Monday.

You can take that slot, though, and put it anywhere you want.

When you take one of the 14 half days and block it off in your default calendar, every single week at that set time you’ll work on your monthly marketing project.

Does that make sense?

There are a ton of time management strategies out there, but right now, the simple fact is this: whatever you write down in your calendar will get done.

There’s no question whether your schedule will fill up with obligations. It most certainly will.

It’s up to you to decide if you’ll be the one to fill it, or if you’ll let external pressures fill it for you.

My invitation to you is to take one four-hour chunk each week dedicate it to your marketing. My world changed when I took a half day of uninterrupted, focused time and I worked ON my business, rather than IN my business.

You are constantly teaching clients to do this stuff, so why not do it for yourself?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Leave a comment below.
