I woke up this morning and there’s a question inside our Black Belt Facebook group asking about what is the best way to get really amazing live event testimonials.
And there’s a question in there about what’s the best question to ask to get really great testimonials for a live event.
The problem with running a live event is, people, got to book a time, go to travel, go to book you a flight and accommodation. It’s kind of an unknown quantity. It’s time that they’re never going to get it back.
So, what we want to do upfront is to help people experience what the live event could be like for them even before they’ll come.
Great Testimonial Reel
One of the easiest ways to do that is by shooting a great testimonial reel at your next live event. So here’s what I suggest, grab out your iPhone or a fancy camera and interview participants in your next live event.
And when you do, you want to ask them a few questions.
Introduce Themselves
Firstly, have them introduce themselves and their business.
So, I would say “Hey, I’m Taki Moore from Million Dollar Coach” And then you would say “so what was the problem that was going on in your specialty?” or I would say “so what’s the problem in your coaching business that made you really want to come?” And then they will talk about the little issues that they had.
The next thing that you want to be thinking about is the testimonial is not about how great it is. You want to overcome some objections.
If you can address an objection in each testimonial, then it’s much easier for people to go “oh, they had the same question that I had and it was still worth it.”
Biggest Obstacle
So the next question, ask question three is “What was the biggest obstacle or roadblock or fear that you had about coming to the event?”
“Oh, I did not know if it’s worth flying from London to Santa Monica for the million dollar coach intensive”, For example. It just feels like it’s a long way. Ok cool. What was the best thing that you’ve learned from the event so far?
The best thing that I’ve learned was, I had a sale with webinars and had built a leverage coaching program.
Impact
Next question, “If you implement what you have learned so far, what kind of an impact it would have on yourself and your business?”
Even if I just implement that webinar piece, it will be easier to make a 100, 200, or 300 thousand dollar in the next 12 months conservatively. Fantastic.
Recommend
Last question. “Who would you recommend this event to and why?”
By the way, it’s best to have someone just off the side of the camera. Maybe here or there. Asking the questions so it does not look like I’m looking straight at the camera like I’m doing with you. And so if I say “who would you recommend this event to and why?”
And the person kind of look at the side at you. And so, you know what I honestly recommend this to any coach who consults? and considers about taking their business to the next level. It’s so practical. It’s really hands-on and you should totally just do it.
So you just stand off here, like a slight angle, ask them the questions. Have somebody else just hold the camera or have the tripod just there and you’ll do incredibly well.
The best way to make the people commit the time, the energy, the money, to come to a live event is to show them what’s it going to be like when they get there.
