Right now, I’m going to give you a simple tip on how to get better results for your clients without you working any harder.
As I watch coaches work with their clients, I’ve noticed there are two main ways they try to get them great results.
Done For You
On one end of the spectrum, we have Done For You. Maybe you create websites or handle all the email marketing for your clients. Done For You is really good for your clients because they don’t screw it up and they get great results.
Do It Yourself
On the other end of the spectrum, there’s Do It Yourself. Do It Yourself means you teach clients and they implement it.
While Done For You is good for the client because you do the all the work, Do It Yourself is good for you because the client is responsible for implementing — not you.
But, there’s a downside.
When you teach them to do it themselves, what usually happens? Do they implement it well or not? Usually, they screw it up, don’t get good results, and eventually, they blame you.
When you do everything for them, though, the upside is that they get great results, but the downside is that you work too hard.
So, we have a choice to make. Do we choose Done For You or Do It Yourself? I reckon there’s a third option.
Done With You
Right in between Done For You and Do It Yourself, there’s this beautiful space called Done With You. Everything we do in Black Belt is Done With You. It’s designed to help clients win faster.
Here’s how we do it…
Done With You means:
1. I’ll teach you
2. I’ll give you a template
3. Once you’re done, I’ll critique it and see how we can make it sharper.
That way you get all the benefits of Do It Yourself because you teach and they’re responsible for doing the next steps. You also get the benefits of Done For You because you give your clients a template — a path to follow — so it’s easy for them to follow through. They win and it’s easy for you.
Done With You is the sweet spot.

Does that make sense?
To sum it all up, there three ways to get results for your clients: Done For You, Do It Yourself, and Done With You. If you want your clients to win faster, I think Done With You is the secret.
