I just want to do a quickie about setting up a workshop room right. And not just the workshop room, we call it the conference kit.
I don’t know about you, but I reckon that our stuff is some of the best stuff; not best-looking stuff, but the best content.
I reckon you’re probably the same. I think a huge mistake would be to have the best stuff in the world and have people ignore it because it looked like crap. You know what I mean?
So here’s a quick tour of some of the pieces of our conference kit so you could do the same. I’m going to walk around. And we’ll just do a quick look at the room.
The room’s pretty straightforward…
There’s a few pieces I can see down here. We’ve got banners, posters -most people don’t do posters. These are some idea we actually learned from Matt Church.
What the posters do is they create – for me, what I think it does is it takes it from learning – the content being what you have at the front of the room to frankly having content be the room itself
Okay -so, registration table and badges. These are the same name badges that we use for Black Belts; obviously with some modifications. So, we’ve got white here instead of your belt color.
We’ve got our 9 projects that we work on that people can go from – if you can see here. Bronze, silver, and gold one.
Yes, signage. Workbook. Right? And so, the workbook is a thing of beauty. Let’s be honest.
So, one page to capture the key ideas at the end of every section. Models, worksheets, models for each section, key points.
So, here’s the big idea…
The big idea is that you want all of your stuff to fit together, to flow together, to be one instead of being multiple pieces, separated.
You don’t want any of your stuff to stand alone. Every piece has got to fit together, hang together, and flow really nicely.
And that’s how to setup up a simple, but engaging workshop room.
