How to Break $1M in Your Coaching Business in the Next 12 Months

Watch Now

Hey gang, it’s Taki.

Just waiting for Kiri-Maree to appear. She’s been down the Waterfront walking and thinking and meeting.

We got our Tuesday morning meeting every week, and frankly, it’s a bit of a secret weapon that I don’t talk about a lot.

I don’t know how you work best, but I know I’m really good at three things, and anytime I’m doing something that isn’t these three things, frankly, I kind of suck. I suck a lot.

The three things that I’m good at are:

  • I’m great at creating,
  • I’m really good at performing or delivering the stuff,
  • and I’m really good at kind of jamming or collaborating.

And so, almost everything I’ve created is in some kind of collaborative form.

You’re probably better than me at all of that stuff.

You’re probably really good at kind of thinking things through on your own, and you probably never get stuck. Me, I guess that’s all the time.

And I think if I’m not stuck, it shows that I’m probably not moving forward fast enough. And so, it’s really useful for me to have someone I can talk things through with.

I think things through externally — with my mouth.

And so, every Tuesday, we get together and we have a sit-down meeting over breakfast. And the format’s really simple.

I just get a sheet of paper and divide it up into three by three —like, a tic-tac-toe, whatever you call it. Nine boxes. And I just write down nine things that I’m not sure what to do with.

Kiri-Maree’s really good at helping me think things through and come to a decision really quickly.

And so, over the course of an hour, (maybe it’s a bit longer or less), all of my nine things have clarity around them, decisions made, next steps mapped out, and I can leave and go about the rest of my week happy as Larry.

In my world, Tuesday to Friday are workdays. Saturday and Sunday, and Monday are days off with the fam.

Monday’s project day with the kids. We work on school projects which are fun. The kids designed out their dream bedrooms. I did one too. Mine’s got a monkey butler, a trap door, and a clear plastic floor with a fish tank underneath. Theirs was awesome as well.

And so, Tuesday’s the first day of the week. And the first activity of the week is to sit down with Kiri-Maree and map out the nine things which I’m stuck on and get them really, really clear.

Anyway, I don’t know how much that helps you. Hopefully, just able to get some stuck decided to —clear about the week— either at the start of the week or the end of the week before, really, really good system.

Certainly been game-changing for me and really, really helpful for us.

So, hopefully that helps.

Take good care.

Taki Moore, out.
